Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity, a national men's collegiate fraternity, was founded at the University of Virginia on March 1, 1868. Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity is dedicated to developing men of integrity, intellect, success and high moral character, and to fostering a truly lifelong fraternal experience. Pi Kappa Alpha chapters throughout the country strive to be SCHOLARS, LEADERS, ATHLETES, and GENTLEMEN. The men of the Eta Tau Colony of Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity are proud to offer this scholarship to a future APSU Governor.
Object: To provide financial assistance to a deserving incoming male freshman who possess a strong desire for academic excellence, community involvement, and leadership development.
Recognition: One or more individuals will be selected from the pool of qualified applicants and awarded this scholarship(s) during the Pi Kappa Alpha Scholarship Dinner to be held prior to the start of the 2014-2015 academic year.
Qualifications: Interested candidates must meet the following criteria to qualify for this award:
- Incoming freshman male attending Austin Peay State University with a GPA of at least 3.00 on a 4.00 scale;
- Must have been actively involved in their church, community, or high school;
- It is recommended to have at least one letter of recommendation from a high school teacher or service organization leader accompanied with the application; however, it is not required.
*Application and Letters of Recommendation must be submitted by August 1, 2014.
