This November and December farmers and artisan market is designed to attract actual producers or growers of fruits, vegetables, plants, meats, herbs, flowers, baked goods, jellies, jams, honey and/or other approved products. Artisan and craft vendors must create/construct their products with a local component. All vendors must reside within a 100 mile radius of Washington County Maryland.
All products sold at the market must be grown or produced or crafted by the vendor.
Items not specifically authorized for sale under rule one, may only be sold with explicit authorization in writing from the Market Manager. A completed Re-Selling application is required.
Vendors can be from the State of Maryland, Virginia, West Virginia and Pennsylvania with preference going to Washington County farmers followed by distance and product preference.
All vendors at the market will, by applying, agree to allow inspections of their farms and production facilities as a means of assuring compliance with the “producer and local only” rule.
Holiday Marketing Season
Vendors can lease space on a daily or weekly basis up to and including the full season ends for holiday shopping. All full season vendors will have access to a secure storage warehouse space for their products. For single day or week vendors, application and payment must be received by the Wednesday before the start of the market. Any late payments or incomplete application will result in movement to the following market week.

All vendor fees are nonrefundable.
Assignment of Spaces
Vendors who pay the Full Season fee prior to November 1, 2016 will have first selection space on November 18, 2016. On Friday, November 18 between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m., vendors can enter the market and select their location. At this time any full season vendors can deliver their products and inventory to the warehouse. Final vendor space selection will occur in the one hour prior to the start of the market on Saturday, November 19 at 9:00 a.m.
Vendor partnerships are encouraged to create up selling opportunities.
Day-to-day layout of the market will be at the discretion of Market Manager. Any late arrival weekly paid vendors will forfeit their location until the following week. To facilitate orderly daily layout of the market(s), vendors are requested to notify the Market Manager in advance of absence from the market or delayed arrival. No contact from vendors will result in lost vendor space.
Vendors wishing to use their reserved spaces at a market must arrive no later than 30 minutes before market opening. After that time, the Market Manager may, at the Market Manager’s discretion, assign that space for the day, to someone else.
All vendors are required to operate their stands in a safe manner so that customers do not trip or fall over produce, tables, boxes, etc., or slip on liquid spills etc. Vendors are required to make immediate safety changes when directed to do so by the Market Manager or a representative of the market’s landlord/host management. Mandatory setbacks from the center of the market may be established at the Market Manager’s discretion to maintain public safety and orderly market function.
Display and Signs
All farmers/vendors must display their business name and complete address. All prices must be clearly displayed either on a list or per item.
All prices must be posted in writing at the market and be visible to customers at all times.
Vendors are required to maintain their stands in a neat and orderly fashion and to be responsible for removing all debris from their stall area at the end of each market day. All display units must meet required sanitary standards and be sturdy. Appearance of the market must be maintained at the highest level. Each vendor area measures 10 x 10 foot.
Use of Canopies/Umbrellas/Banners/Tables/Chairs/Displays
Vendors are advised to use canopies/umbrellas/banners to maintain the appearance of the market and quality of product. Canopies, umbrellas and stall covers must be neat, clean and in good repair. All are encouraged to have a holiday theme. Each vendor must supply all necessary materials for adequate and safe vendor stalls including tables and chairs.
Vendors are required weekly to report their sales totals for each sale day to the Market Manager. This proprietary information must be provided prior to the start of the following week’s market.
Business and vendor surveys will be conducted from time to time and at the close of the market season on December 20, 2016. Vendors agree to cooperate in such surveys.
Re-Selling is optional
Re-selling is optional with advance market approval. However 60% of offered items must be grown/produced/made by the vendor/farmer. A separate application must be completed by farmer/vendor of the items to be resold.
On Saturdays, the market will unlock doors and open promptly at 11:00 a.m. Doors will be monitored and closed to new customers at 5:00 p.m. The warehouse will open at 10:00 a.m. for vendor access for loading and unloading. The warehouse will close at 6:00pm.
On Sundays, the market will unlock doors and open promptly at 12:00 p.m. Doors will be monitored and closed to new customers at 4:00 p.m. The warehouse will be open at 11:00 a.m. for vendor access for loading and unloading. The warehouse will close at 5:00 p.m. Farmers and Vendors are not allowed to tear down prior to the close of the market.
Leslie Hart will be the designated “Market Manager” whose duty is to oversee orderly operation at the market and see that market rules are being observed.
Farmers and vendors agree to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws and regulations and all necessary licenses and permits and provide documentation of compliance with their application.
Adequate storage is available for all full season vendors in the warehouse. All materials must be clearly labeled and inventoried each week.
