The Catholic Service Award was developed in the spirit and intent of the Legacy of Faith endowment fund to preserve and foster the Catholic faith in the Upper Peninsula. The award recognizes lifetime dedication and service to the Catholic Church. For more information visit: www.LegacyofFaith.net
Criteria:
- May be given to a man or a woman; a priest, deacon, woman religious or a lay person
- All ages will be considered
- Significant demonstrated service to the Catholic Church including, but not limited to, the Diocese of Marquette
Qualifications:
- Committed to carrying out the mission of the Catholic Church in word and action
- An inspiration to others through sharing their time, talent and treasure with generosity and joy
- Demonstrated service and active leadership in the Church, the community and beyond
- Personal life and participation in parish endeavors is exemplary
- Respected member of the community enjoying the confidence of the parish, the community or region, and/or diocesan members
Award Recipients:
- Are contacted directly by the bishop with a personal message of gratitude
- Receive local recognition at their parish and are presented with a special medallion in honor of their service
- Their service is highlighted in diocesan publications and social media
- Are invited, with their pastor, to the annual Bishop’s Ambassadors Mass and Dinner event for further recognition
- Recipient’s parish receives a $250 grant for faith formation
